So, now that onemanga has become a piece of trash.

As some of you know, Onemanga decided to remove all the Mature mangas, and censor them.

Now I don't know about you, but I hate censorship, not because it removes tits, sex or whatever. I just use porn to get myself off, but for the fact it removes the original intent of the artist.

I also believe I like 2010, and I should have my freedom of speech, and hell I would much more rather die than to have my freedom of speech removed.

With that said, I'm completely black-marking onemanga, and never looking back.

What are your thoughts on this?

Also I don't know whether it's aganist the rules or not, but are we alloweed to discuss websites that host mangas? I think it would be nice to post the other sites we use for reading manga online.

Well it sounds like it's time to start checking out mangafox instead it would seem now. *sigh* And some of the manga that I've been reading there was pretty good too.

Mangafox is no good either, they decided on the same thing... the "removal" of mature/yaoi/yuri manga I believe it was. The target being the mature tag for some reason... neverthless there are still a couple sies who haven't pulled this nonesense.

Before you all go on a hate parade, a few things to note:
All the series removed are only TEMPORARILY pulled. The intention is to sweep them all and remove only those deemed pornographic (presumably, those that display graphic sex or whatnot). The rest will be put back up in the near future. Therefore, wait till they finish the 'sweep' and you may find that there is little to no impact on you.
Second, they didn't just decide to up and remove everything - they were being pressured from an outside group (namely: Google and ADSENSE - both of whom FUND the website via their ads). Therefore, don't judge the site, but rather, judge Google/ADSENSE.
Third, I understand that OneManga is considering creating a separate 'mature' section where the removed titles will be added back in (behind either a portal where you're required to say you're over 18 years of age, or where you have to be logged into an account with 18+ age privileges).

I suggest you all take a deep breath, calm down, and wait to see what happens before jumping ship. The site certainly has served it's purposes well in the past, and I believe that it will continue to do so in the future.

Well they do have the mature content setup for Sekirei with the whole this is a mature kind of manga ordeal. I mean all it shows it fanservice at the right times and is more or less violent as well. Although it has a legitamate storyline behind it.

In any case I just hope to see some of the doujins that I've been reading so far to be continued from here on out.

I don't see what the problem is. There are a lot of other sites out there that would let you read although they're not read-in-your-browser sites, they let you download all the chapters and read them at your own leisure...

As for onemanga's move, I have to say I can't blame them, since there are underage browsers after all, and how do you think their parents will react if they saw their kids reading "porn" on onemanga? They'll probably overreact. Considering that possibility, no matter how far-fetched it may seem, I don't blame them for protecting their own hide.

Actually mangafox brought some back even aki-sora. If you read it you would be like maybe this one should be banned. Still no kodoma no jikan Yuria 100 futari ecchii but my balls are still there.

No see, my beef is that they are "editing" the mature manga.

IF they were to just remove it, then it's fine, but who the hell they think are that they can edit the manga to their rules?

They are not the author, they should have no right in tempering with this work.

I'm not giving them the cold shoulder becuase they are removing manga, but because they are editing it.

If they couldn't keep up the servers withouth the adds, they can do a mangatraders things and ask for donations monthly. I'm pretty sure they will hit their target.

When did they say they were editing the manga? The impression I've gotten both from their announcement and from various discussions on the forum is that they are simply removing the manga deemed pornographic, NOT removing random pages of the manga.

I completly diagree with this title. Yeah i hate censorship, but lets get a few things straight. First there just temporarily pulling the series, to be reviewed, not censoring them.

And quite frankly the reasons as to why there were doing it are rather valid. They have young people visiting the site, so why would they want them stumbling on to content like Kodomo no Jikan (great manga), i know it got taken off a few months ago but you get my point. The total variation in its content is kinda bad considering the younger peolpe whoo visit.

Plus its not going to hurt you to go to another site to get your mature seires' there is enough of them about.

No, I'm pretty sure they would be removing the pages, and panels they deem pornographic. Maybe I miss-read or something, but I'm positive that what they said....I think....

See that's the thing. It's not the wensite responsability to make sure younger viewers don't read it. They have a pretty damn HUGE tag letting you know it's a mature series. The responsability it's on the parents who do not monitor what their kids do. It's like censoring videogames. You see online all the time 15-16 years old playing M rated games, or reading M rated mangas.

Why should developers/hosting/people/authors change how they do their stuff, just because parents are not responsable enough in taking care of their own childs?

Sorry, but I fail to see a valid reason.

It is also very hypocritical how google want's them to remove their "pornographic content" while I have gotten a lot of adds from google that are just porn itself. Fling, Adultfinder and hell even just straight up porn sites. Where did I get those adds. On Gaia.

Again like i said there not editing, just removing complete series. And if you still have trouble understanding that here is what one manga posted:

To clarify, we are not removing all the mature content forever. We are simply removing them until we have time to manually check the content of the series. As series get cleared, we will add them back.]

No where in there does it give any mention of editing series' so that they could have a page or 2 missing. And as a onlinemanga reader if they were to do that, thats just stupid, hosting totaly incomplete seires'm with pages missing.
