what are you doing?

I'm off to the MRI machine tomorrow. My thumb's been bugging me since the accident. (airbag deployed across it and I was stiff arming the steering wheel during impact both.) I finally gave up on arguing with my insurance company and just paid for an appointment out of pocket... it's a good thing I did, it's torn up pretty bad. Still gotta negotiate with the neck clinic to get a no-insurance rate or see if by some miracle they're "in network". The silver lining is that the thumb injury is somehow not affecting my gaming or drawing!

Of course, life's not all bad. On the productive side, my writing is really starting to feel more solid. I've been working on most of the stories I've been grooming for game dev and they're all starting to get to where I have some confidence in them. I also have a new story concept that was kind of a random late night stress vent last month and it is... taking on a life of its own and I cannot wait until it's developed enough to show. :D (The two writing buddies that I bounce ideas off of really like it, so I'm feeling pretty solid about it.)

As mentioned, the health stuff isn't affecting my drawing, so art practice is going well if slowly. I've got a bunch of new and highly unfinished artwork, but I'm making progress on rebuilding my art style and gesture training is really helping with anatomy and posing. I'm also experimenting some with faces and working on my digital workflow- hopefully I'll finish some drawings soon so I can start posting them.

On the gaming side... I finally finished off both Tales of Zestiria and Berseria a few weeks ago, beat a few indie Metroidvanias, still need to play Super Metroid but I am so not feeling that one, kinda metroided out after Metroid 1 and AM2R along with a few indies. Tried Rosenkreuzstilette, I liked what they were doing as an old megaman fan, but it was everything I hated about classic Megaman. Tried Rain World, I hate that game. Probably going to play Tales of Symphonia next. Never played the original, got the PC port along with Zestiria and it's just sat in my steam library since. I picked up the Humble bundle VN collection, which I'm saving for possible future use because...

... The family is planning a 6 week RV vacation next month! I'm hoping to go, medical stuff may bench me, but if it doesn't I'll be riding along and working on everything while I'm on the road. Since I can't drive the RV, I'll basically be able to work on my writing and code without much interruption. (The tradeoff is, I'll barely be able to code because I can't copy paste from stack overflow. :p ) In preparation I've been setting up VPN access into the home network so that I can feel a little safer using public access points, and we got this really nice +18db gain antenna and repeater setup that mounts on the RV, it can connect to a hotspot a mile away. B)

Well had a very crazy past two weeks or so, most of it was being busy at work due to a hurricane that hit where I live somewhat, oh but not directly though. So I'm still playing catchup on a few things here, and mostly I'm going to miss my full time hours that I had at my job though.

Currently playing Part 1 of Mon-Musu Quest Paradox since it's mostly story translated now. All I can say is that the game does the whole happy-go-lucky moments to full on nightmare fuel within one game instead of it being in the 3rd game.

I'm kinda crossing my fingers here. Got a double whammy of Health and Job woes.

The Health side is the usual aftermath of the crash, but the job side has me particularly vexed. My parents pressured me into applying for an IT job with a school district and I have no idea if I want it or not. x_x; I want it because it forces my computer business to close, has a fixed schedule, comes with good insurance, and will get me something vaguely resembling a living wage. (But not actually, because housing here costs so much) I don't want it because it's going to make a mess of all my outstanding plans/goals, potentially setting me back 3 years, and I have this deep inner fear that the next doctor's visit will be when I'm told "you need to get this surgery then wait 3+ months before going back to work" and if hired, that my employer would be forced to let me go because they can't carry dead weight that long. (I mean, on top of the 2.5 months of downtime I'll have from the thumb repair surgery that I can't get until next year because my current insurance carrier lies about everything being in network then bills me out of network prices.)

The interview for the job went pretty good, I rocked the technical part of the interview, down to correctly answering the trick questions... but I have yet to hear back from them and it's been a week and a half. I know they interviewed another half a week ago and that they may have another person to interview this coming week, so it's possible that I just won't know for another 1~2 weeks, but the big picture uncertainty is driving me crazy.

Edit: On the upside, Art practice has been fun lately. I'll try to get a blog post going with some sketchwork in the next week or so here.

genderless.

you just missed me.

Currently got Warriors All-Stars, (A.k.A. the Koei Crossover Musou game) before Christmas and it was rather cheap new which was rather shocking since most Koei games tend to be like around $60USD new or so. But the game has been out for months and the DLC is just alternate costumes for the characters but even that is rather cheap too if I wanted it. Other than that kind of drifting back into Nioh because of that game since William is in both games. also, I need my rageohol at times you know.

So, I'm currently trying to cram as much prep into this week as I can. Saturday I finished off the game I've been streaming on saturdays, Eternal Filena, and this saturday I plan on running through just a bunch of games just to see what games pique people's interest. I have some SNES/SFC games lined up, and some steam games, but I've been feeling crazy nostalgic for some of the old Amiga games. In particular, I kind of want to sit down with Starglider 2 and explore the game for a change.

My blog is slowly coming back to life. I need to get the good digital camera and start taking some photos of my 3D prints for my next blog post. I've been doing all sorts of odd little utility prints, replacing broken drawer slides, making tool-racks for the computer room, some cord storage hooks, when the right color filament comes in I'll print replacement "Trapdoor hatch" covers for two of my Amiga computers, even. I want to feature some of those and kind of crack a running joke: 3D printers are for custom brackets. (It seems like everything I've printed has been some form of bracket or cover.)

I'm also trying to talk myself into buying an SLA UV resin printer, which I could use for actual miniatures/toystuffs, but I'm sure I'd end up wasting most of my UV resin to drying between prints.

I'm also doing a website revamp for a client that might end up being one of my best yet, or the client may pull the plug on some of the creative stuff and relegate it back to the traditionally boring style he's had up 'til now. Keepin' my fingers crossed, here. :D

So... currently busy.

Hey everyone!

Now, I know, I might seem like a ghost that only drops by every 3 months, but here is the thing as to why that was like it.
It is kind of heavy so for those who wish to know, it's down here in the ''spoiler''
As of December 2017, One of my parents went into the hospital and only came out 4 months later without a pulse.
Ever since that moment I had to do a number of things such as: old finances, Moving into said parent house, Taking it over, Cleaning it, Emptying it, take over bills, take in a brother who is still a student and was about to end up on the street, switching jobs, learn how to drive and taking a study course all in the span of 2 months (april - june)

Now, I'm doing a lot better and hopefully as of the end of this week, I'll have all the time again for stuff such as forums, reviews and A Half year of anime that I've to catch up... Time to pick up the old 24hrs awake Skill

Well I'm browsing here for the first time in years.

It's nice to see this place still going. It's always sad when a place you used to frequent goes away.

As for what I'm doing, I got a place with my partner back in July, so we just had our first Christmas in our new house, wasn't too bad but really different since we had both spent our respective holidays with our parents. So it was weird for both of us.

I'm still reading manga, not as much as I'd like to but I'm reading enough that it keeps meaning occupied.

I'm playing through Danganronpa 2 on my Vita, I'm almost at the end of that, though I'll just be tyring to kill time until Trails of Cold Steel 3 comes out later this year.

Hope you're all doing well.

Yeah, I am surprided myself. It feels like an eternity since I left. I bet nobody remembers me anymore.

I guess I would come more often, if the forumes were alive or if the site still offered streaming, which ti doesnt, right?

Heeeellooooo I see I was not the first one who passed by this memory lane!
Glad to see this place is still alive, amazing really. I hope everyone is doing alright :)

I am actually lurking around because I can't remember the name of a specific anime I used to watch. I also just remember bits and pieces of the story line. It's been a while since I've watched anime properly.

Been lurking too, or more likely MIA, due to being on my PS4 and phone over my laptop. In any case just caught up on some of my major backlog I got, but still have a major backlog for Fairy Tail itself, along with Jojo so far. Aside from that, work has been well... work, and I just recently got Fate/Extella - Link. That game is a major improvement from the first one, and adds more characters too, but I kind of wished that Kiyohime would of gotten involved though. Also, with Jeanne's NP it make it where using it is still a bad idea, unless you're just wanting to clear the stage as an A rank instead of an EX Rank.

I need to lurk less and ramble more. Realized one day that I've been backing away from every single community I'm in for a few years now.

I've been going through and streaming stuff, working on crazy projects, working the day job, etc. Making some progress, but largely being bit in the rear by a mix of depression and procrastination. Trying to tackle that head on lately, having some moderate success. Honestly too early to say if what I'm doing is working or not, but changing my environment some to help push back against some of the little things that feed the cycle seems to have helped somewhat. I'm also trying some different pain meds that seem to be helping with the neck/back issues from the crash, as well, although I'll need a few more weeks to know for sure one way or the other.

My game livestreaming has been going pretty quietly. I haven't been able to work up the nerve to really advertise it, so it's just been some friends watching with the occasional driveby. Recently finished Dragon Warrior 1 (the SNES port), before that Wild Arms XF. Watching yourself play games is weird, but interesting. Someday I'll go through and edit all these play videos to create proper recordings, and I'm sure I'll be mortified by what I see. Something I'm really looking forward to is Octopath Traveler. The Steam release is soon, and that game looks like Square finally got around to releasing a successor to Rudra no Hihou. ^_^

I'm also pretty close to digging myself out from under the pile on web dev for clients. For a while there I'd finish one site and have two more come in. Now I'm down to two left after this one. Hopefully I can get this out of the way then go full speed ahead on my game dev stuff. ^^

Currently a mix of playing games, watching videos and trying to rebuild several of Fansub's servers, as well as sort out the upgrade (FTV next gen project) which got stalled due to problems with the next software version.
Really need to get things sorted, as this place is almost dead, which is a shame as this should be a good time for forums with lots of people stuck at home bored.

Huh. Haven’t been here in a hot, hot long while. Brings back a lot of good memories.

How is everyone doing? I’m Hama, though I haven’t gone with that name in a long, long time. I remember being super active here with the art contests and the anime discussions circa 2009.. though I think I was here since 2005. Boy that was a blast. I missed those days when it was nice and simple. Alas, 2020 is upon us, isn’t it.

Funny enough, I only came across this recently because of the Facebook post made by the FTV page. Never occurred to me that I saw a blast from the past show up, but I’m glad it did.

Let’s see... how am I? I’m doing good, and I’m safe for now. I’m engaged to my fiancé, and we had our wedding postponed due to the thing, but we look forward to it I don’t work right now for the same reasons, but all is good! I think I’ve grown quite a bit since the last time I was here. I just recently moved to my new place, and only just about to weeb out this one shared room I have for an office.

I miss this place. I especially miss the old crew. I hope you all are doing well, and safe, wherever you are.

Hey Hama, glad to see you again, hope you will stick around a bit? Would love to see some art or any contests again, I don't think we have done that in a while. Glad to know our Facebook post worked.

Congrats on the engagement, sorry to hear the wedding got postponed, hope you get it re-arranged and it goes well. Its certainly been a funny year and we only just over half way through it.

We are trying to bring some life back into this place, would be awesome to have all the old crew back, some of us are still here tho :)

Well aside from doing the Nagato rerun and doing PR3 on Azur Lane, yes the better KanColle game, also trying to find a way to get past 4-10 on Arknights too. That and I've been on discord too for a while, so that's mostly my excuse there.

I was planning to do some house cleaning but I ended up playing Kingdom Two Crowns. I’m addicted to this game. After a little gaming, I took a nap then woke up washed my cats’ litter box. I’m looking at Summer in Mara game on Switch. For some reason, it reminds me of My Time At Portia.
