well, i don't know if anybody else reads the manga, but i know i started to read it because i got too impatient waiting for the subbers to sub the anime, they were taking devastatingly long (not complaining, maybe they were busy?)

well anywho, i'm currently reading the manga, i havent caught up to the updated volume, i'm only on volume 15 right now, i think there are what 17/18 out? still have some way to go, but i just wanted to discuss what people thought about the manga and the storyline in general because i know there's an anime thread about this, but it's way behind the manga!

I did the same thing XP

I have to say I really enjoyed the manga just as much as I am enjoying the anime. ~ <3

Is the manga finished ?????

Bye

Nope its still being serialized in Cookie

ha, seriously, the anime was taking waaaaay too long, couldn't hold my temptation, how far have you gone?

Nah, I'm gonna hold my temptation, once the NANA anime is over but its not that tempting compared to the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga........which is amazing, u should check out the NGE anime thread, Q-dono, at the moment we are posting our favourite moments from the anime and the manga, I've never read the NGE manga, but Q-san starting putting little shorties from the NGE manga and so far they are somply brillant!

The NANA manga is something I'll read after NANA anime finishes, which is probably later this year. But its true, eppy 34 sure is taking its time!

Bye

NGE thread? Is it a good anime to watch? What's it about?

ha..i really, really wanted to story to continue, and after a while if you dont watch something, then the effect of it goes away, though the manga is getting a little confusing now...but really, really very good

The sotry probibly will continue on in the manga, the manga is still going and shows no end in sight, the naime will probibly round it off in a conculsive end and the manga will soon round off too and come to an end, though I doubt that they will come to the same ending plot. MOstly because the manga is not finnished and in Japan they are aired up to around ep 35/38 somewhere betwwn there which means the last episodes must be in preduction now/are being finnished off and since the manga isnt finnished the anime will probibly deviate slightly.

I've bought the first five mangas from Viz but as volume six comes out in June I've been satiating myself with scanlations for the meantime (I intend to buy every single NANA manga that comes out, don't worry!).

And...wow.

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM VOLUME 13 ONWARDS DO NOT CLICK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!!!

Misato is SCARY! Did she kill her dad? And her room!! A psycho stalker indeed...it seems her dad had a relationship with Nana's mother, but I don't think she and Nana are related by blood. The real Misato is adorable though! <3
I'm desperate to find out why Nana left...I think Hachi did something...

dont read unless you want to REALLY know, major spoiler im getting confused with that part also. but the other misato does really look like a younger version of nana! I'm surprised! Though I got confused though what the story behing Nana's mother really was, i mean they are half sisters i get that, but how that happened, did Nana's mother run off with the other Misato's dad and she had kids or something to that extent? Well, I remember reading the manga and i think they were doing a shot of the future and they showed a girl with long, blonde hair and she was singing in a bar/cafe or something and i think that was nana! I was like....wth? And I remember them saying about that day at sea nobody would have guessed that I survived, maybe they went on a cruise and Nana got stranded, and everybody thought that she had died? I think thats what happens, i'm GUESSING though

Maybe fake!Misato pushed her off the boat? lol

i dunno man, i dunno...im just guessing here....but i think that would be a pretty crappy ending dont you think? But i stopped reading after v16...i mean, then stopped updating the manga AND the anime? I mean, what's goin on here?

The anime wrapped up at episode 47 which makes for a total of 50 ep if you count the 3 recap episodes intersperced in there.

I haven't seen past episode 38, which is the most recent sub done so far, at least of a high quality. I'll patiently wait it out before jumping to the manga to continue with the story. The subbers really are taking a long time, but I'm not complaining, they do a superb job. Since I haven't seen how the anime ended, I cannot say for certain, but certain comments I've picked up on here and there say that the ending wasn't truly an ending and leaves the series open to a second season or something.

I read somewhere, though can't verify it, that the anime creators were just waiting for the manga to wrap up before continuing to make more episodes. This would make some degree of sense given how incrediably faithful they have been to the manga in making the anime, it's almost a verbatim translation from print to screen.

I really hope they do continue the anime once the manga finishes. Given how faithful they've been to the manga, the series has been a real enhancement to the story experience as opposed to a pale derivation as sometimes is the case with manga to amime.

i heard that they are planning to end it only at 50 and that the ending is continued up into a manga continuation...i've stopped reading the manga, planning to wait it out patiently with all the other faithful nana fans

I finished reading the chapters of the manga that have appeared so far and I must say it's my favourite manga so far. I was surprised how well the anime goes along with the story in the manga, but I'm sad that there will be so few episodes of this anime. Of course, the manga is long, but I would have liked to see an anime of the whole manga, it would have been interesting.
The manga made me a little sad, and I was surprised to find finishing touches of the end, so to say, along the chapters. I first watched the anime, and then I heard that the manga was a must read.It was worth the two days I stayed at home reading it (like a maniac

).
