Bah! The Swine Flu is senselessly stupid media sensationalism (repetitive? meh).
The Swine Flue is less dangerous by a good amount than the actual flu, and the symptoms are weaker. The only thing about it that is especially different is that it's a bit more contagious, so it spreads faster to more people. The media has put the whole thing WAY out of perspective and caused the general public to freak out. It's just stupid ~_~
I have had several friends who've had it, and have been forced not to attend lecture because of it (at university) and have been told to try to quarantine themselves as best they can. That said, they didn't really follow instructions (one just blatantly went to class without a mask and didn't care, the rest skipped class but didn't bother 'quarantining themselves'). All of them were perfectly ok, just had a runny nose, some headaches, etc - general flu symptoms but less strong.
The only people to whom the Swine Flu really poses any kind of a threat to are the very young (e.g. infants below the age of 1) and the very elderly who's immune systems are not fully functioning and for whom minor symptoms can cause problems. Even then, so long as you aren't living in a third world country, you'll pull through just fine. You're more likely to die from the standard flu, so yeah...
