Jagged Alliance, one of my most beloved games. Especially number 2. The combination of grim humor and tactics always made it worthwhile.

That is untill the original developer went bankrupt. The license went to several different people who all managed to make a mess of things (including a lacking port of JA1 for the DS and JA back in action), but now suddenly some guys from a developer I had never even heard of want to create a new JA game.

This developer at least seems to understand parts of what made the games great. Since I really liked it and not everyone visits kickstarter (I sure don't) or gaming sites (I sure do) I wanted to post this here as well.

Also, if you haven't played JA2 in a while and suddenly feel like playing, check out the fabled 1.13 mod. That this game still has an overactive modding society

This game is INCREDIBLE. I say so cause I played it when it first came out and bought the games, both JA2 and JA2: Unfinished Business when it first came out back in 1999. I first played the one sector demo and loved the game then so I bought it at I believe Best Buy. I didn't expect anyone to talk about this game at all considering how old it is. I recently rebought the game at GOG.com and all versions of JA2 since I lost the CD but it's well worth the $20 for the 3 games, at least for me.

I remember if you cheat and teleport your crew to the very, very bottom left corner sector, then you arrive at the demo sector. You can meet a second Jake there, too, just like you'd see in the demo. This was my favorite game for years and years. I even took to getting all my mercs to lvl 10 with 100 everything.

Let me just warn you that Jagged Alliance: Back in Action is horrible. It's missing an extremely lot of features. Control scheme is so horrible that you can't see your mercs or enemies a lot of the times cause the camera control is locked. Well, the game has a good base idea on its mechanics, but there's too much to fix that it fails.

It's just a shame that this game isn't recognized as much as it should be as a classic.

Nice to see another fan. Last Sunday I went to my parents house to clean up the attic. Guess what I found to my surprise.

The original box.

I remember playing JA2 for the first time and getting lost in the scope. It took me a long long time before I finally grasped the idea. But when you do it's a really deep game.

About three years back I actually bought the gold edition, new on a website. It's rather funny because it wasn't a website that i'd expected to find it. It's like walking into a Toys r us and suddenly it's there.

Just saw the link to the new proposed kickstarter game. I like the idea, but not enough information to get hooked on for myself. Yeah. This game is very deep. Everything from going to the room to see the Smiley face appear on San Mona to Seeing Elliots face all bruised up from Deidrianna's constant slapping.

Should the game be made, I'd like the have the hard copy but to get that you have to have invested like $750 so I think I'll settle for a digital copy for this JA game. Also, There better be Gus Tarballs there cause I know he's been around since "the founding of AIM" although my favorite character would be Shadow.

Done

You are right truth, there was not a lot to go on. There still isn't however they have managed to reach their goal ánd managed to get several prolific modders on board. In addition the original project leader for JA3 (who also worked on 2) is now also on board as an advisor. (which generally means he'll be ignored, but who knows)

Like you I would have loved to have a physical copy, but that's probably not going to happen.

I pledged in the final moments, also to get the humble bundle and finish my collection.
