Getting Started

The first step in building your kingdom is selecting your Lord Name. Once you’ve selected a Lord Name you will need to enter in a name for your base. Choose your Lord Name wisely because once one has been selected you will not be able to change it.

Your base name can be changed by selecting the “Lord Management” button at the bottom of the screen once you’ve entered the game.

Once you’ve selected a name for yourself and your kingdom you will need to assign a strategist. Your strategist will serve as your first Warlord and advisor as you complete the Koihime Musou’s tutorial. Choose wisely! Each Warlord has its own Ougi (Special Abilities) and preferred unit type. Some are more suited for defense rather than offense, and may favor offensive unit types over defensive unit types. Remember though that this is just the first of many Warlords you will have the opportunity to come across in Koihime Musou!

The next step is to select a Kingdom to serve. Besides choosing your Lord Name, this is one of the most important decisions you will make. The Kingdom you select will decide where you can place your base on the map at the start of the game, the ruler you serve under, and who you can ally yourself with. If you plan to play Koihime Musou with your friends, make sure you all agree on a Kingdom before advancing past this step.

Once you’ve selected a Kingdom you will be given the option to choose where your base in your Kingdom’s territory in reference to other game territories. Boldness is rewarded here so if you choose to throw yourselves at the front line you will receive more gold at the start of the game. Gold can be used early on to purchase Warlords and progress your Clan’s level.

Front Line: Being on the front line also means you will come into contact with your enemy (Including PC enemies) much quicker, which means more experience but the potential to be attacked more frequently. (Recommended for players who enjoy PvP encounters)

Mid Line: Alternatively, if you choose to place your base mid field, you will receive less gold but be further away from the action. This will give you more time for uninterrupted advancement, but will also limit the amount of experience you can gain. (Recommended for players who enjoy a mix of PvP and PvE)

Rearguard: The last option is to place your character in the rearguard. The rearguard is your Kingdom’s last line of defense against invaders. The bases that form the rearguard are almost completely out of harm’s way early in the game and will have more uninterrupted time to create their kingdoms than any of the positions on the map, but it will come at the cost of additional gold and experience gained early on. (PvE/Base construction option)

When choosing a location, be sure to pick that one that appeals most to your play style!

Resource Management
There are four types of Resource Nodes.
Resource%20Nodes.png

Farmland: Produces crops. Crops are necessary for creating buildings, upgrading troop, research, and maintaining troops.
Mine: Produces ore. Ore is necessary for creating buildings, upgrading troops, and research.
Forest: Produces Timber. Timber is necessary for creating buildings, upgrading troops, and research.
Clay Pit: Produces Clay. Clay is necessary for creating buildings, upgrading troops, and research.

Resource Gathering
Once you’ve constructed your resources nodes, you will begin gathering. You will continue to collect resources even while you are offline or away from your computer. A good strategy early on is to upgrade your Storage (Indicated on the image above by the blue border and number 2.) to maximize the total amount of resources you can store, and your resource nodes to increase the rate of collection.
Resource Management
Beside each resource type on your Resource Bar (Indicated in the image below by the green border and number 3) is a number, a number in parenthesis, and a + amount (Or in some cases a -amount). The top number represents the current amount of those resources you have, the number beneath it represents the maximum amount you can store (Based on the level of your Storage), and the number with the + or – value indicates your current hourly collection rate (Based on the level of the resource node associated with that resource).
Resource%20Bar.png

Early on you will find yourself using more clay and timber than most other resources so another good strategy is to keep those slightly higher in level than your other resource nodes. Be careful though because once you begin building soldiers, they will need to be fed which will decrease your overall crops production. If your crop production ever drop into the negative, you will be unable to build anything else until you upgrade them. Iron will also become more important as you progress through the game, so make sure you do not neglect that resource either.

Barracks

Infantry Barracks
Infantry units are your most basic units. These units can be constructed at the Infantry Barracks. The early Infantry unit is cheap and requires very little time to create which means early on it can be mass produced. As you level up your Infantry Barracks, the total time it takes to build different units will be decreased. You will also gain access to additional units that can be researched at the Military Research Center and trained at this barracks.

Level 1: Infantry Soldier (Available for research at level 1.)

Level 2: Scout – A higher speed, harder hitting infantry unit. Great for scouting areas. (Available for research at level 4.)
Level 3: Guardsman – A high defense, lower attack unit. Great for defending territories. (Available for research at level 8.)
Level 4: Spy – A higher speed, harder hitting infantry unit. Faster than its Scout counterpart. (Available for research at level 12.)
Level 5: Medic – Medic have the unique ability to heal units on the battlefield. Certain heroes have Ougi’s that make medics heal more effectively. (Available for research at level 16)

Archer Barracks

Archers are ranged attack units. Rank one and two archers are relatively balanced in stats, neither favoring attack, defense, nor mobility. Level three archers however strongly favor attack. As you level up your Archer Barracks, the total time it takes to build different units will be decreased. You will also gain access to additional units that can be researched at the Military Research Center and trained at this barracks.
Level 1 - Archers – Basic archer units. Balanced. (Available for research at level 1)

Level 2 – Longbow Archers – Archer units. Balanced. (Available for research at level 7)
Level 3 – Flame Archers – Advanced archer units. Favor damage. (Available for research at level 14)

Spearman Barracks

Spearman are melee units armed with spears. Early spearman units favor attack over defense. Spearman are a great way to compliment your Warlord when expanding an conquering land. As you level up your Spearman Barracks, the total time it takes to build different units will be decreased. You will also gain access to additional units that can be researched at the Military Research Center and trained at this barracks.
Level 1 – Spearman. Cheap. Favors attack. (Available for research at level 1)
Level 2 – Halbredsman. Favors attack. (Available for research at level 8)
Level 3 – Heavy Spearman . Balanced. (Available for research at level 15)

Cavalry Barracks
Calvary are the fastest units in the game. Calvary units favor attack over defense but their true strength lies in quickly moving from one location to another. If you need to quickly move units for reinforcement, Calvary is your best choice. Higher level Calvary units actually act as transports to move your slower units to their destination more quickly. As you level up your Calvary Barracks, the total time it takes to build different units will be decreased. You will also gain access to additional units that can be researched at the Military Research Center and trained at this barracks.
Level 1 - Calvary. Favors speed. (Available for research at level 1)
Level 2 - Heavy Calvary. Favors speed. (Available for research at level 9)
Level 3 – Transport Calvary. Favors speed. Increases movement speed on units grouped with them. (Available for research at level 17)

Engineer Barracks
Engineer units are designed for sieging bases. Engineer units are not intended to be brought into skirmishes. They are better suited for fighting assaults on bases. As you level up your Engineer Barracks, the total time it takes to build different units will be decreased. You will also gain access to additional units that can be trained at the Military Research Center and trained at this barracks.
Level 1 - Basic Engineer Unit. (Available for research at level 1.)
Level 2 - Battering Ram Cart. (Available for research at level 5.)
Level 3 - Turret Cart. (Available for research at level 10.)
Level 4 - Siege Calvary. (Available for research at level 15.)
Level 5 - Stone Catapults. (Available for research at level 20.)

Constructing Buildings

Base%20Screen.png

Unlike resource nodes, which have a predetermined location based on the resource node you click around your base, buildings can be placed anywhere within the walls of your base as long as the white space you click is empty. (Represented by the red outline and number 1)

Constructing New Buildings
To construct a building simply press an empty white space. A list of all buildings (Both available and unavailable) will display for you. Each building will have a description of what it is used for as well as a list of requirements that must be met before it can be built. If you are unable to build a building, refer to requirements to find out why. Once you’ve selected a building hit the ‘Construct’ button. An animation will play to let you know your building is being constructed (Represented by the green outline and number 2).

Upgrading Buildings
Once you’ve constructed a building you can begin to upgrade it. Upgrading a build is simple. Just click on the building you wish to upgrade and select the “Upgrade” option. Each building has its own unique perks for upgrading. Upgrading your troop barracks will decrease the build time and at certain levels give you the option to train new troops whereas upgrading your Storage increases the total number of resources you can store. An animation will play to let you know that your building is being upgraded (Represented by the purple outline and number 3).

Progress Queue
Whether you are constructing new buildings, upgrading existing ones, researching, attacking, or being attacked, all of your progress will show in your “In Progress” box (Represented by a blue outline and number 4). You can only construct one building at a time. The top building has the “Working” tag beside it, meaning that it is being built. The time beside it indicates how long it will take before it is finished. Beneath that is the second and third building with the “Waiting” tag beside it and another time. That time is the amount of time that will need to pass before that building is completely, not its own construction time. This means in 26 minutes my storage and iron mine will both be upgraded and I will have built my Smithy.
